Thank you for your interest in Physicians’ Organization of Western Michigan, Inc. (POWM). Our current membership, which includes MDs, DOs, and DPMs in both primary care and specialties, numbers over 570. A full-time Executive Director manages the day-to-day operations of POWM, however, an elected shareholder Board of Directors exercises the ultimate control.

The main goal of POWM is to preserve the practitioner/patient relationship. It is part of every practicing professional’s oath to protect the welfare of the patient. When we support the practicing professional, we are assured that the patient’s welfare will be upheld. To guarantee this protection, the practitioner must play a significant role in the decision-making process. By forgoing relationships with hospitals, HMOs and employers, we will insure that practitioners maintain a leadership role in the health care delivery system. Without practitioner leadership, patient advocacy is too often forgotten in the race toward an improved “bottom line.”

If POWM seems to be moving in the right direction, we invite you to participate in an organization that is a true voice for all practitioners. The application process begins with receipt of your submitted application below. We urge you to complete the process as soon as possible so that we may begin to list you in our directory of participating practitioners.

As one of the largest physician organizations in Michigan, POWM leads the way in promoting the independence of physicians.
